Pharmacy name: Roman chamomile root – Pyrethri romani radix (formerly: Radix Pyrethri romani).

Botanical description. Herbaceous plant 45 cm tall; inflorescence – basket. It grows in the Mediterranean, North Africa, Syria, Arabia (it is also cultivated there).

Active ingredients: spicy resin, tannin, a little essential oil.

Application. To stimulate salivation, against diseases of the teeth, as a tonic for weakened digestion. In homeopathy it is used for rheumatism and neuralgia.
