DAURSKAYA (“neither forest nor grass”)
Beautiful shrub up to 2-3 m tall with grayish-brown bark, small bluish leaves (like needles) and large tassels of pink flowers. Blooms in July-August.
Distributed in Altai, Sayan and Transbaikalia. Grows along sandy and pebbly banks, shoals, escarpments of mountain rivers.
Medicinal raw materials are branches.
In the folk medicine of Siberia, they are used very carefully inside, also externally: a decoction of twigs is drunk for edema, worms, epilepsy, baths from twigs are taken for colds and rheumatism.
In Tibetan medicine, the branches are used as part of medicines for diseases of the spleen.
