Botanical description. Annual herbaceous plant up to 50 cm in height, with thinly dissected leaves. The flowers are white or pink. Grows in the Mediterranean; they are also cultivated there, also in China, India, North and South America.

Active ingredients: essential oil, resin, tannin and a number of other substances.

Application. Like common cumin, which grows wild in Europe, it is used for gas and colic. It is also used as a spicy seasoning.
