ORDINARY GOLDENER (golden rod)
Perennial plant with a strong erect stem 50-100 cm high, sometimes painted in a reddish-violet color; basal and lower leaves oblong-elliptical, serrated; stem -lanceolate, entire. Flowers in small baskets, yellow, with a spur, hanging under leaves 2-3 on thin peduncles. In green drooping pods, at the slightest touch, the valves are twisted into a ring and the seeds are scattered with force to the sides. Blooms from July to September.
It grows in pine and spruce forests, on hillsides, in mossy and grass forests.
With a medicinal purpose in folk medicine, the tops of a flowering plant are used.
The grass contains essential oil, traces of saponins, quercitrin, tannins, alkaloids, bitterness, nicotinic acid.
Grass is brewed as tea and drunk with diarrhea, bladder diseases; powdered dry inflorescences are mixed with cream and the ointment is used for various skin diseases, especially for skin tuberculosis; powder from flowers fall asleep non-healing wounds; also used for all kinds of kidney diseases (kidney and bladder stones, protein in the urine), as a diuretic for edema and dropsy.
Used officially in homeopathy.
Herbal infusion is used as a dissolver of kidney and bladder stones, with a high protein content in the urine, as a diuretic for edema and dropsy, also for rheumatism, gout, bronchial asthma, pulmonary tuberculosis, cholelithiasis. A decoction of the herb is used for rinsing with sore throat, loosening of the gums, for lotions for purulent wounds and bone fractures.
Application
Infusion 1: 1 tbsp. a spoonful of grass in a glass of boiling water, drink 1/2 cup 3 times every day before meals for 2 weeks.
Infusion 2: Pour 6 teaspoons of herbs with 2 cups of cold boiled water, leave for 8 hours and drink warm sips a day.
The golden rod is included in the composition of medicinal preparations for the treatment of vein diseases.
