THYME FLOWER SNAKE HEAD
An annual herbaceous plant from the family Lamiaceae with a tetrahedral stem up to 60 cm high. The leaves are opposite, heart-shaped-serrate, with a wedge-shaped base. Small pale lilac bilabiate flowers are collected in many-flowered disconnected whorls. Blooms in June-July.
Often found in the northern regions of Russia on dry slopes, along roads and as a weed in crops.
Medicinal raw material is a herb.
The plant has astringent, antispasmodic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. An infusion of herbs is used for gastrointestinal diseases, and especially for pain and spasms in the stomach and intestines. The serpentine head also helps with headaches, trigeminal nerve palsy, facial paresis and depressed mood. Outwardly, an infusion of herbs is used for scabies and other skin diseases. Herbal poultice is used for rheumatic pains.
Application
Infusion: 1 tbsp. pour a spoonful of grass with a glass of boiling water and insist for 2 hours. Take 2 tbsp. spoons 3-4 times every day 30 minutes before meals.
