RUISCH SNAKE HEAD

Herbaceous plant with several stems 20-50 cm high. Leaves lanceolate-linear, entire, dark green above, lighter below. The flowers are purple-blue, collected on the stem in a whorled inflorescence (traditionally of 6 flowers). Blooms in June-July.

One of the most common snakehead species in Siberia. It grows in the southern half of the forest and forest-steppe zones in sparse birch and pine forests, forest meadows, meadow, sometimes stony slopes.

Medicinal raw material is a herb. The plant contains an essential oil that is not similar to the oil obtained from the Moldavian snakehead.

Infusion of herbs in folk medicine is used for headaches.
