ZIMOLUBKA UMBRELLA (zolotnik, sukhovesnik)

 

Perennial herbaceous plant with an erect stem up to 20 cm high. Creeping rhizome, leathery leaves, dark green, shiny, oblong-obverse-wedge-shaped, wintering. Flowers in a small amount are collected in umbellate inflorescences, five-membered, pink; the fruit is a spherical capsule. Blooms in July-August.

It grows in pine forests, more common in the northern half of Belarus, in Siberia.

The grass contains arbutin, bitter substances, tannins, resin, salicylic acid methyl ester.

In folk medicine, they often drink a decoction of herbs, less often tincture of vodka for diseases caused by weight lifting, after childbirth, from bloody urine, for kidney disease, catarrh of the bladder, inflammation of the prostate gland, liver disease, edema associated with heart or kidney disease. , rheumatism, gout.

Used in homeopathy. It is indicated for internal diseases associated with excessive physical stress.

Application

Infusion: 2 teaspoons of dry grass insist 2 hours in a glass of boiling water and drink 1-2 tbsp. spoons 3 times every day or 1/2 cup 4 times every day.
