Yellowish grayish – jelly dusk

Name: Grayish yellow-eared yellow-eared yellow-eared yellow-eared yellow-eared yellow-eared yellow-eared yellow-eared yellow-eared yellow-eared yellowtail

Erysimum diffusum, synonym — Erysimum canescens ; yellow-eared yellow-eared; the Cabbage family (Brassicaceae), or Cruciferae; Jaundice spread

Most often, the grayish yellowtail can be seen in the southern part of the middle strip of Russia. However, plants also travel, which is why it became common along communication routes (railroads, highways), and then gradually penetrated to more northern regions, where it took root, especially in littered places, along the walls of rural buildings. Not a very noticeable plant, but the appearance is often deceiving. In fact, yellow bellflower is a source of raw materials containing important cardiac glycosides, which are used not only in folk medicine, but also in scientific medicine.

It is usually a herbaceous biennial, less often (in the southern regions of Russia and Ukraine) — an annual. The stem of the yellow sedge is mostly single, branched, 30-90 cm high, sometimes there are several stems. The leaves are oblong or linear, entire. The lower ones are pedunculated, and the higher ones are sessile. The flowers are yellow, bisexual, four-petalled, collected in apical inflorescence-tassels. They bloom in May-June. The fruit is a four-sided pod 4-10 cm long, covered with gray hairs, ripens in June-July. Under natural conditions, the grayish yellow-bellied tree grows in the steppes, on dry, as a rule, stony slopes, less often in pine forests and among shrubs. It is found in the southern steppe regions of Siberia. In Ukraine, it grows throughout the territory, except for the Carpathians.

For the preparation of medicinal products, the aerial part of the plant is collected during the flowering period, cutting it at a height of 10-12 cm from the soil surface. The grass is used fresh to obtain juice or dried in the open air in the shade. The storage period is 2 years.

In folk medicine, tinctures and infusions of herbs are used, and pharmacies sell a ready-made complex cardiac product, Cardiovalen, which is used as prescribed by a doctor.

The pharmacological properties of medicinal raw materials depend on the content of glycosides in it. Studies have proven that yarrow products are an active heart remedy. In terms of their effect, they are close to strophanthin, but more effective. The therapeutic effect occurs faster, and addiction to these drugs is less, since they are immediately removed from the heart muscle. In addition, yarrow products have expectorant and diuretic properties, have a calming effect on the central nervous system.

Usually tincture and herbal infusion of the plant are prescribed for acute and chronic cardiovascular insufficiency associated with circulatory disorders. They alleviate the condition of patients with hypertension, angina and cardiosclerosis, are useful for lung and chest diseases, especially hoarseness. These agents are also prescribed for dropsy.

Although the products of the yarrow are quickly removed from the body, due to their high biological activity, it is necessary to strictly follow the dosage prescribed by the doctor.
