DREAM WHITE (white root)
Annual or biennial with a straight, branched, soft hairy stem up to 1 m tall, covered with elongated-oval, pointed leaves, 4-5 cm long. The upper leaves are sessile, the lower ones are on petioles. The flowers are white, in apical loose inflorescence; their calyx is pubescent, glandular-adhesive, 1.5-2.5 cm long, in staminate flowers it is tubular-bell-shaped, in pistillate (on another plant) it is broadly ovate. Blooms in June-August.
It grows in meadows, in vegetable gardens and orchards, in crops, near ditches, along roads. Occurs very often.
The roots contain saponins. Water decoction is drunk with palpitations, articular rheumatism and kidney diseases, it has a specific effect on the neuromuscular apparatus of the uterus, enhances its contraction. It is used for uterine bleeding in the form of infusion, tincture.
Application
Tincture: 25%, 20-40 drops 3-4 times every day.
Infusion: 20 g per 200 ml; 1 st. spoon 3 times every day.
Infusion: 1 tbsp. spoon to a glass of boiling water. Insist 1-2 hours, take 1 tbsp. spoon 3 times every day for colic or 0.5 cup at night for insomnia.
