VERONICA WHITE-FELT (gray-haired)

 

Perennial herbaceous plant up to 40 cm high. The stem is straight, the leaves are opposite, ovate-oblong and lanceolate. Stem and leaves with gray-green pubescence. The flowers are bright blue, collected in single spike-shaped brushes. Blooms in May-July.

Distributed in the southern part of the forest, in the forest-steppe and steppe zones of Western and Eastern Siberia.

Medicinal raw material is a herb.

The plant contains carotene, glycoside aukubin rinotin, ascorbic acid, traces of alkaloids.

In folk medicine, herbal infusion is used against headaches, rheumatism, chronic skin diseases, colds, coughs, asthma, pulmonary tuberculosis, kidney and bladder diseases.

Application

Infusion: 1 tbsp. leave a spoonful of herbs for 2 hours in 0.5 liters of boiling water, drink half a glass 4 times every day an hour before meals.

Fresh leaves are used against sweating of the feet, applied to wounds for their rapid cleansing and overgrowing.

Baths from the water infusion of the herb treat fungal skin diseases, acne, itchy rashes, burns and wounds.
