Badan pacific

BADAN PACIFIC

\r

Saxifrage family. A perennial herbaceous plant similar to badan thick-leaved, differing only in smaller leaves with a wedge-shaped or blunt, rather than heart-shaped or rounded base and a less branching inflorescence of bright pink flowers, which become purple when dried.

\r

It is found only in the Far East: in Primorye and the Lower Amur Region, in Sikhote-Alin. Grows on the slopes and margins of stony placers in the pre-bald part of the upper mountain belt among shrubs, more often cedar elfin or along the upper border of the forest. Usually forms thickets.

\r

In folk medicine, it is used for the same diseases as thick-leaved bergenia. It has a pronounced astringent and anti-inflammatory effect.

See badan thick-leaved.
