Jaw cyst

Jaw cyst is a cavity formation in the jaw that occurs with pathology of the teeth. Coated and filled with a yellowish liquid containing cholesterol crystals.

The reasons

The root cyst develops from epithelial elements under the influence of irritating effects of inflammation in the periodontium. The origin of the follicular cyst is associated with the racemose degeneration of the tissues of the dental follicle.

Symptoms

The clinical course of jaw cysts is initially asymptomatic. As it develops, a round, painless protrusion appears, thinning of the bone wall of the cyst.

With suppuration of the cyst, symptoms characteristic of acute odontogenic osteomyelitis appear.
