Pharmacological effects – mucolytic, expectorant.
Dosage and administration
Inside, after eating, initially dissolved in a glass of water.
The following doses are often recommended:
– adults and adolescents over 14 years of age – 400-600 mg of acetylcysteine per day, divided into 2-3 doses;
– children over 6 years old – 400 mg / day, divided into 2-3 doses;
– children 2-6 years old – 200 mg / day, divided into 2-3 doses;
– in newborns, they are used only for health reasons at a dose of 10 mg / kg under the strict supervision of a physician. Children of the first year of life are allowed to drink the resulting solution from a spoon or feeding bottle. Children from 1 to 2 years of age are prescribed 100-200 mg / day, divided into 2-3 doses, only under strict medical supervision.
Treatment of cystic fibrosis:
– children over 6 years old – 600 mg / day, divided into 3 doses;
– children 2-6 years old – 400 mg / day, divided into 4 doses;
– infants from the 10th day and children under 2 years old – 100-150 mg / day, divided into 2-3 doses under strict medical supervision.
The duration (continuity) of application depends on the characteristics of the disease. In the treatment of chronic bronchitis and cystic fibrosis, treatment can be long (up to several months).
Storage conditions of the drug N-AC-ratiopharm
In a dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
