Arterial hypertension (persistent rise in blood pressure); congestive heart failure; prevention of sudden death after myocardial infarction.
Pharmacological action:
Antihypertensive (lowering blood pressure) agent, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor. By suppressing the synthesis of angiotensin II, it reduces its vasoconstrictor (narrowing the lumen of the vessels) effect and its stimulating effect on the secretion (release) of aldosterone. Increases plasma renin activity. The drug also inhibits the metabolism (prevents decomposition in the body) of bradykinin.
The drug reduces the total vascular peripheral resistance, does not significantly change renal blood flow (and in some cases increases it).
Pamipril (Ramipril) method of administration and doses: The
initial dose of the product is usually 0.0025 g, taken 1 time per day (in the morning) on an empty stomach and washed down with water. In case of insufficient antihypertensive effect, the dose of the product after 3 weeks. gradually increase, but also appoint a one-time. In some patients, a uniform antihypertensive effect throughout the day is achieved by taking the product 2 times every day.
The maximum daily dose of the product is 0.01 g, and maintenance, as a rule, 0.0025-0.005 g.
If the effect is insufficient, it can be used in conjunction with diuretics.
In patients with diabetes mellitus and those over 65 years of age, the initial daily dose should not exceed 0.00125 g, and the largest -0.005 g.

Do not administer to children under 14 years of age.
