Indications for use:
The drug has antianginal (anti-ischemic) activity and is used to treat coronary heart disease. It is also effective in hypertension (persistent increase in blood pressure).

Pharmacological action:
Beta-blocker of indiscriminate action (blocks beta]- and beta2-adrenergic receptors). It has a long duration of action. The half-life (time for which 1/2 dose of the product is excreted) is 20-24 hours (the half-life of propranolol is 2-4 hours, pindolol is 3-4 hours, atenolol is 6-9 hours). Does not have a negative inotropic effect on the myocardium (does not reduce the strength of heart contractions).
