Pharmacological action:
Madopar is a combined product containing levopa with benserazide (a chemical compound that prevents the breakdown of L-dopa in the body).
Madopar (Madopar) method of administration and doses:
Begin treatment with Madopar-125, 1 capsule 3 times every day for one week. Then, at intervals of one week, increase the dose by 1 capsule until the optimal effect is achieved. The therapeutic dose is usually 4-8 capsules (rarely up to 10 Madopar-125 capsules) every day (in 3-4 doses). If the daily dose exceeds 5 capsules of Madopar-125, Madopar-250 can be used at the appropriate rate.
The average dose for maintenance therapy is usually 1 capsule of Madopar-250 3 times every day.
Madopar-62.5 capsules are intended for more precise dosage regulation in cases where it is necessary to reduce the dose or distribute Madopar-125 for 2 doses.
Madopar (Madopar) contraindications:
Idiosyncrasy (congenital high susceptibility) to the product, pronounced violations of the liver and kidneys, the function of the endocrine glands, decompensation of the cardiovascular system; should not be used by children under 12 years of age and women during lactation (breastfeeding). The drug should be used with caution in patients with active stomach ulcers, bronchial asthma.
Madopar (Madopar) side effects:
Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, orthostatic hypotension (lowering blood pressure with a change in body position), arrhythmia, redness of the face, high excitability of the nervous system or depression (depressed state), tremor (trembling of the limbs) are possible.
Release form:
Madopar is available in capsules containing, respectively, 50 mg of levopa and 12.5 mg of benserazide (madopar-62.5); 100 mg of levopa and 25 mg of benserazide (madopar-125); 200 mg of levopa and 50 mg of benserazide (madopar-250).
