Indications for use:
Long-term treatment of coronary heart disease, prevention of angina attacks, treatment of post-infarction conditions with persistent angina pectoris, pulmonary hypertension (increased pressure in the vessels of the lungs), treatment of severe chronic heart failure in combination with cardiac glycosides or diuretics.
Pharmacological action:
Prolonged (long-acting) form of isosorbide mononitrate.
EftoxLong 50 (Efoks long 50) method of administration and dosage:
Unless otherwise recommended by a doctor, take 1 tablet once every day. Tablets should be taken after meals, without chewing and with a small amount of liquid. Termination of treatment with the product should not be abrupt, but gradual, since the “withdrawal phenomenon” (worsening of well-being after abrupt discontinuation of the drug) is not excluded.
EftoxLong 50 (Efoks Long 50) contraindications:
Increased susceptibility to nitrate compounds, acute myocardial infarction with low blood pressure, left ventricular failure, severe hypotension (low blood pressure), hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (heart muscle disease with narrowing of the heart chambers), constrictive pericarditis ( inflammation of the outer membrane within the heart sac leading to compression of the heart), cardiac tamponade (compression of the heart with fluid and blood accumulating in the pericardium /within the heart sac/). Avoid drinking alcohol while taking the product. Exercise caution to persons whose activities are related to the management of transport and mechanisms.
EftoxLong 50 (Efoks long 50) side effects:
Headaches (“nitrate headaches”) may often appear at the beginning of treatment, which usually disappear after a few days with continued use of the product. Sometimes at the first use or when the dose is exceeded, a drop in blood pressure is observed, which may be accompanied by a reflex increase in heart rate, lethargy, as well as dizziness and a feeling of weakness. Rarely, nausea, vomiting, redness of the skin and allergic reactions may occur. With constant continuous treatment using large doses of the product, the development of tolerance (resistance to the action of the product), as well as the appearance of cross-tolerance to other nitro products, has been described. To prevent the weakening of the action of the product, the constant use of large doses should be avoided.
