APPLICATIONS IN MEDICINE
Roots. In folk medicine, infusion – with anthrax. Leaves. Official raw material for the production of the product “Digalen-neo”, which is used in chronic forms of circulatory failure I, II, III degree and in the tachyarrhythmic form of atrial fibrillation. In folk medicine – with heart failure, also with ascites, pneumonia; in the form of ointments – for tumors and scabies.
DOSAGE FORMS, METHOD OF APPLICATION AND DOSES
Digalen-neo (Digalen-neo) – an aqueous solution of the amount of digitalis rusty glycosides, purified from ballast substances. Transparent, slightly yellowish liquid of bitter taste, neutral or slightly acid reaction. It has a characteristic effect of foxglove products on the cardiovascular system. Assign under the skin and inside. In 1 ml of the product for injection is 2.7-3.3 ICE; in 1 ml of digalen-neo for oral administration – 5.4-6.6 ICE. Inside, they are prescribed mainly for mild forms of cardiac decompensation, 10-15 drops per reception 2-3 times every day. Under the skin is administered to adults at 0.5-1 ml 1-2 times every day, for children under 1 year old at 0.05-0.1 ml, from 2 to 5 years – at 0.25-0.4, from 6 to 12 years – 0.4-0.75 ml. Higher doses for adults inside: single 0.65 ml (20 drops), daily 1.95 ml (60 drops); under the skin: single 1 ml, daily 3 ml. Digalen-neo has a more powerful effect when administered parenterally, however, it should not be used for the treatment of acute heart failure. When taking the substance inside, dyspeptic symptoms (nausea, vomiting) may occur. Release form: ampoules of 1 ml for injection, orange glass vials containing 15 ml of the product for oral administration. Store with caution in a place protected from light. CONTRAINDICATIONS: bradycardia, impaired atrioventricular conduction, extrasystole of medicinal origin (especially bigeminia). Juice from the leaves of digitalis rusty (Succus fol.
