Common dungaree
A small perennial herbaceous plant with a vertical leaf emerging from the rhizome, divided above into a barren and spore-bearing part. The barren part is an oblong-oval, entire leaf, narrowed towards the base and here slightly descending and enclosing the spore-bearing stem-like part, ending in a narrow spike with two rows of sporangia. It spores in July-August.
Medicinal raw material in folk medicine is a rhizome with roots.
Fresh and dry rhizomes with roots are eaten with a snake bite.
