In scientific medicine, there are indications that agrimony products are able to regulate liver function and have anti-inflammatory effects.

In folk medicine in many countries, agrimony is recommended in the treatment of chronic liver diseases (stones, hepatitis, cirrhosis). In addition, it is used to treat gout, rheumatism, lumbago (backache), hemorrhoids, gastric diseases, intestinal lethargy, hemoptysis and inflammation of the mucous membrane of the larynx. For the above-mentioned diseases, it is recommended to take tea from the herb agrimony with honey (approximately half a glass 3 times every day). Outwardly, you can apply a compress or lotion from this decoction, or a mixture is made consisting of crushed agrimony leaves, vinegar and wheat bran in equal amounts; boil over low heat until a homogeneous thick mass is obtained, which is applied as a compress on sore spots, tumors, bruises, dislocations, etc.

A decoction with honey is one of the best remedies for diseases of the liver and spleen, it eliminates constipation (for liver disease), and is useful for gallbladder disease. In addition, it dissolves sand in the kidneys, and it is used externally for cancerous tumors and aphthous stomatitis (inflammation of the oral cavity with ulceration). A decoction of the roots – for benign and malignant tumors, advanced rheumatism.

They write that agrimony can be used for sore throats in the form of an “agrimonic” rinse at least 5 times every day (100 g of dry agrimony leaves per 1 liter of water, boil until it decreases by 1/3, strain, add pink honey). Such rinses are recommended for those who have to talk a lot and for a long time.
