Botanical description. Herbaceous plant within 0.5 m in height, traditionally branched stem and ovate leaves. From the greenish-white flowers develop fleshy berries, enclosed in a shiny red calyx in the form of a flashlight. It grows in the south of Europe, in America and Asia. It is found in our country as a weed in shrubs, vineyards, in fields, and is also bred in gardens as an ornamental.
