Botanical description. At first, only a rosette of extremely large petiolate leaves appears in this plant; in the fifth year, a powerful, up to 3 m high and 10 cm thick, stem with dissected leaves and inflorescences-complex umbrellas grows from its center. It is found in Eastern Iran and Afghanistan, in saline areas of the steppes.

Active ingredients: resin containing up to 60% ferulic acid ester, azaresitannol, coumarins, essential oil, vanillin and a number of other substances.

Application. In the form of galenic products, it was previously used for flatulence and lethargy of the intestines (also in homeopathy). In places of growth it is also used as a seasoning.
