Pharmacy name: tulip bulbs – Tulipae bulbus (formerly: Bulbus Tulipae).
Botanical description. Asia Minor can be considered the birthplace of this perennial bulbous plant. Throughout Europe it is grown as an ornamental plant.
Active ingredients: alkaloid tulipin, tulipozides A, B and C with antibacterial and antifungal activity.
Application. In its pure form, it is almost never used, but extracts from it are contained in many finished products and are used for inflammation of the nasopharynx, as well as in the treatment of abscesses and rheumatic diseases.
