Botanical description. Perennial bulbous plant with a leafless stem up to 2 m in height. Long (within 1.5 m) keeled leaves depart from the bulb. The flowers are small, greenish-yellow. It grows in Venezuela, Mexico, Guatemala.

Active ingredients: alkaloids and substances close to them in action, fatty oil, phytosterols, wax, resin and a number of other substances.

Application. Previously, sabadilla vinegar and sabadilla ointment were used to kill lice.
