Synonyms: scrofulous grass, prichepa (Ukrainian dzyadran, prichepa, dog turnips).

\r

Description. An annual herbaceous plant from the Compositae family, 25100 cm high, with a small strongly developed root. The stem is straight, glabrous, tetrahedral, dark purple, branched from the base, the branches are opposite. Leaves with short winged petioles, opposite, mostly deeply tripartite, 37 cm long. Leaf lobes lanceolate, serrate. The flowers are small, tubular, bisexual, collected in single baskets. Corolla tubular with 5 teeth, dirty yellow. The cup is missing. The fruits are oblong-obovate, strongly flattened achenes 68 mm long with 24 uneven awns. The weight of 1000 seeds is 2.5-3.5 g. It blooms in June-August. Seeds ripen in September October.

\r

Medicinal raw material: herb.

\r

Habitat. Grows in damp low places, banks of reservoirs, near streams, rivers, swamps, ditches and as a weed; in gardens and fields. Sometimes forms thickets.

\r\r

Spreading. It is found throughout the Union, with the exception of the Arctic.

\r

In culture, it is cultivated in the Krasnodar Territory and the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

\r

Composition of active substances . In this regard, the sequence has not yet been studied enough. It is known that it contains traces of essential oil, mucous, bitter, tannins with a high content of polyphenols with antiseptic properties, as well as a significant amount of carotene and vitamin C.

\r

Application. A series of tripartite is a very popular plant, especially in folk medicine. Use its leaves and tops of the stems. A series is taken orally in the form of tea and water, infusion to improve digestion and increase appetite, as a diuretic and diaphoretic. An aqueous infusion of herbs is also used for rickets, gout, diseases of the liver and spleen, and skin diseases. Lotions from a decoction of a string are applied to wounds and ulcers, this accelerates their healing.

\r

A series is used in the treatment of scrofula; it is part of an antiscrofulous collection, consisting of four parts of the herb of a string, four parts of the herb of tricolor violet and one part of the herb of bittersweet nightshade. A tablespoon of such a mixture of brew–; vayut in a glass of boiling water and drink a tablespoon three or four times every day.

\r

In addition, the leaves and flowers of the series produce dye for dyeing silk and woolen fabrics.

\r

Agrotechnics of cultivation. Site selection. Under the succession as a moisture-loving culture, areas with low relief and high humidity should be allocated.

\r

Soil cultivation is carried out in the same way as for other tilled crops.

\r

Application of fertilizers. Under the main plowing, 40 t / ha of manure or compost are applied, together with a complete mineral fertilizer (30 kg / ha of the active ingredient of nitrogen, phosphate and potash fertilizers). When sowing, granulated superphosphate (810 kg/ha) is applied in rows.

\r

Since the tripartite succession has only recently been introduced into cultivation, the issues of agricultural technology for its cultivation have not yet been sufficiently developed and therefore have an indicative character.

\r

Reproduction. The succession is sown directly into the ground in early spring or late autumn (before winter).

\r

When sown with dry seeds before winter, the grass yield is almost three times higher than when sown in spring.

\r

Almost the same yield is obtained by autumn sowing with seeds stratified for 2 months. It is sown with a SKON-4.2 seeder equipped with flanges, disc coulters and rollers, with a row spacing of 60 cm. The seeding rate is 812 kg/ha, the seed placement depth is 23 cm.

\r

Care of plantations consists in four-five-fold loosening of row-spacings and weeding of rows as needed.

\r

Crops in low-lying areas capable of swamping are treated with horse cultivators.

\r

In the wettest years, plantations are fed with nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizers (30 kg/ha of active ingredient).

\r

Harvest. The leaves and grassy upper parts of the stem are harvested at the budding stage at the beginning of flowering by hand (twice during the summer).

\r

Drying is carried out in fire dryers, also under sheds (and in sunny weather in the sun, avoiding direct rays).

\r

The pack is produced in 25 kg bags or 50 kg bales.

\r

Storage . Store dry grass in a dry room on racks.

\r

quality requirements. In accordance with the requirements of OST 4339, the finished raw material should be individual leaves with a small number of leafy tops and fruits. The length of the leaves is within 1015 cm; the color is dark green, the smell is peculiar, the taste is astringent, slightly burning. Allowed: moisture 13%; leafy tops longer than 15 cm 3; flowers 3; organic impurities 3, mineral 1%.
