Tsimitsifuga Daura

Perennial herbaceous plant with a thick multi-headed rhizome bearing numerous adventitious roots and one or more stems up to 1-1.5 m high. The leaves are large, long-petiolate, double or triple-triple; leaflets broadly ovate, pointed, large-toothed. Inflorescence paniculate-racemose, with early falling sepals. Staminate flowers with numerous stamens, pistillate – with 4 sessile pubescent ovaries. The fruit consists of 3-4 leaflets. The whole plant has a strong unpleasant smell.

Distributed in the Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories. It grows in fields and edges, among shrubs on moist and humus-rich soils.

Medicinal raw materials are rhizomes with roots, which are harvested after the plant wilts. Drying and storage of raw materials – according to general rules.

Rhizomes and roots in the form of a tincture are taken internally for stage I and II hypertension, headaches, as a sedative (central nervous system), for heart and other diseases.
