Perennial small plant not higher than 20 cm, with numerous leafy stems, seated with oblong-ovate leaves; the flowers are violet-blue, whitish in the middle, with a spur. The fruit is a three-leaved capsule with numerous seeds. Blooms in May-June.
Grows in coniferous and deciduous forests, forest clearings, edges, shrubs.
Medicinal raw material is a herb collected during flowering. Drying is normal, but fast.
The raw material contains a lot of mucus, flavonoids. In folk medicine, the herb is brewed as a tea and drunk for heart disease.
