Beans

Well-known annual garden plant. The stem is curly, rarely straight, with pinnate leaves and moth-like flowers, white and pinnate. The fruit is a bean (pod).

Medicinal raw materials are pods (fruit valves without seeds)

In folk medicine, pods are used for medicinal purposes, which are harvested still fresh, not dried on the root (such pods give the best therapeutic effect). A decoction of dried and chopped pods without seeds (1 tablespoon for 2 or 2.5 cups of boiling water) is consumed half a glass 3-4 times every day for rheumatism and as a diuretic for edema, especially if the edema is caused by kidney disease. Powder (flour) of seeds treat burns, wounds. Useful beans for inflammation of the kidneys. In such cases, it should be used equally with corn stigmas (“hair”) or other drugs similar in their action. In diabetes, a mixture of bean pods, blueberry leaves, flax seeds and oat straw is especially effective. A decoction of bean pods and blueberry leaves (equally) is indicated for pancreatic disease.
