Description. An annual herbaceous grayish plant from the Compositae family, 1025 cm high. The root is slightly branched, taproot. The stem is white tomentose, branched at the base. The leaves are alternate, linear-oblong. Flower baskets are small, located at the ends of the branches. The flowers are light yellow. The fruit is a greenish-gray achene. Blooms in June August.

Medicinal raw materials: herb, rhizome.

Habitat . It grows along the banks of rivers, lakes, reservoirs, in wet meadows, in wet and floodplain forests. It occurs mainly in the forest and forest-steppe zones of the USSR.

Application. In the treatment of hypertension, gastric and duodenal ulcers, as well as wounds, burns and fistulas.

quality requirements . Raw materials should be whole plants with grayish-white felt pubescence, with inflorescences, occasionally with fruits. The roots are short, pivotal. Stems are cylindrical, 520 cm long; leaves are small, 0.5-2.5 cm long. Moisture 13% is allowed, total ash is 10; ash, insoluble in 10% hydrochloric acid, 10; impurity organic and mineral on 2%.
