Creeping ringworm – creeping phalanx

Perennial herbaceous plant of the rose family. The stem is prostrate, with creeping or slender shoots, 10-70 cm long. The leaves are long-petiolate, finger-shaped, rounded-ovate, with 5-7 leaflets, glabrous above, pubescent below. Flowers bisexual, regular, 18-25 mm in diameter, yellow, single, sometimes 2 on long (3.5-8.5 cm long) erect peduncles, larger than petioles of stem leaves; sepals and petals five each. The fruit consists of nut-shaped achenes; ovary and achenes bare. Blooms in June-July.

Spread. Foxglove grows throughout Ukraine in river valleys, meadows, and wet places.

Procurement and storage . For medical purposes, grass with roots, i.e. Whole plant (Herba et radix Potentillae reptantis) is used. Flowering plants are dug up with their roots and dried, spreading them in a thin layer, on frames in the shade or in a dry, ventilated room. 20% of dry raw materials are obtained.

The plant is unofficial .

Chemical composition. The plant contains a significant amount of flavonoids and tannins.

Pharmacological properties and use . Foxglove is used as a remedy with astringent, hemostatic, anti-inflammatory and weak pain-relieving properties. Application form — infusion. It is given internally for various bleedings, diarrhea and dysentery. Externally, the infusion is used as a rinse for bleeding gums.

Medicinal forms and applications. Internally – infusion of the whole plant (1 tablespoon of raw material per 200 ml of boiling water) 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day.

Externally – rinsing with infusion (prepared as in the previous recipe).
