Ochanka is upright

 

Annual herbaceous semi-parasitic plant of the morning glory family. The stem is branched, rarely simple, reddish-brown, pubescent, 5-50 cm tall. The leaves are simple, opposite, bare, ovate, with 3-5 long-pointed teeth on each side. Flowers bisexual, irregular, axillary, in apical spike-shaped leafy inflorescences; the corolla is pale purple, with yellow spots and dark purple veins on the lower lip. The fruit is a box. Blooms in June – September.

Distribution . It grows in forests, on bushes, in meadows almost throughout the territory of Ukraine (not in Crimea).

Raw. They use grass collected during the flowering of the plant. 20% of dry raw materials are obtained.

The plant is unofficial .

Chemical composition . The herb contains glycoside aucubin, resins, bitter and tannins, essential oil, dyes, etc.

Pharmacological properties and use . Galenic plant products have anti-inflammatory, astringent and hypotensive properties. In traditional medicine, herbal infusion is drunk for colds, fever, and as an external remedy for eye diseases, diathesis, children’s eczema, and to improve hair growth.

Medicinal forms and applications . Internally – infusion (1 tablespoon of grass per 400 ml of boiling water, infuse until cool) half a glass 4 times a day.

Externally – an infusion (prepared as in the previous prescription) for washing, lotions, washing the head, etc.
